Giel Boles, Giel S. Boles

Description:  Tree or shrub. Some have bark that peels off in sheets.  Oval toothed leaves to 5 in.  (13 cm) long.  Cone-like oval fruits are up to 4 in. (10 cm) long and disintegrate when ripe.

Habitat:  Wet areas.

Remedy:  Strong tea made from bark, twigs or leaves is used as a wash.  Gargling tea soothes sore mouth/throat.  Birch works to detoxify the kidneys, bladder stones, gout and rheumatism arthritis along with reducing fluid retention it clears up numerous skin irritations and problems.
