Giel Boles, Giel S. Boles

Description:  Bush plant has slender stems.  Spotted orange-yellow flowers are horn-shaped and spurred.

Habitat:  Wet areas, clearings.

Remedy:  Jewelweed is best known for its skin healing properties. This plant counteracts the chemicals from other plants that cause the pain and itchiness.  Applying the squeezed or crushed stem juice and leaves on skin eases irritation of poison ivy, oak, bruises, burns, cuts, eczema, insect bites, sores, sprains, warts, and ringworm.
